A stainless steel and eighteen carat gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual. This is somewhat of an unusual reference for Rolex, the '1005'. This is essentially a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date case and movement, except the date window at the three o'clock position has been removed. This rather 'cleans up' the whole appearance of the dial, and creates a beautiful and clean looking face. The dial is particularly good looking on this watch. The two-tone case is housing this stunning glossy black dial, that is marked out with solid gold coffin shaped markers and a gilt print that pops off of the dial. All of the lume plots are in tact and present, as is the full lume in the hands. The watch is powered by the classic Rolex Swiss made twenty six jewel automatic calibre 1570 that also powered the iconic sports watches such as the GMT and the Submariner. The inside of the watch case is stamped '1005' with date stamp 'III 66' for the third quarter of 1966 production. The watch was made circa 1966 with serial number 1,425,XXX. The watch is in original condition, and comes with a Foundwell one year warranty against mechanical failure.
